Criminalizing firearm ownership rights, part 3: HB 1240
banning 'assault weapons', semi-automatic weapons, the ability to build your own guns, and other anti-2nd amendment garbage in this poopstain of a bill...
This write-up comes a few months later than expected, but it’s here. Criminalizing Firearm Ownership, Part 2 is here. Part 1 is here.
As of this writing, there are numerous lawsuits filed against Ferguson, Inslee, and HB 1240 - the semi-automatic weapons and assault weapons ban. There's a related ruling coming out of California, which states that a semi-automatic weapons/assault ban is unconstitutional. The ruling came from the US District Court out of San Diego, with Roger Benitez presiding over the case.
HB 1240 essentially bans not only the sale (and manufacture) of any weapon deemed to be (under the bill’s definition) an ‘assault weapon’, as well as anything that’s a ‘semi-automatic’ weapon. This included pistols, as well as sporting rifles.
It also bans the import and export of such firearms, except by military and law enforcement.
HB 1240 also bans the import and manufacture of ‘uncompleted' gun kits, as well as ‘uppers’, and ‘ghost guns’.
I won’t go into any further details, other than this bill was passed by the same excremental beings that crafted and sponsored HB 1143, and SB 5078 (Inslee and Ferguson). This bill is a clear violation of constitutional law, both state AND federal. This was done under the ‘public health emergency’ rationale, that’s often used to trample and vandalize the rule of law and our Constitutions.
Unfortunately, due to rigged elections, you have these people flagrantly flouting the law and their oath of office they swore to uphold.
This law is repugnant to the Constitution and should be considered ‘null and void’.
Democrats don't seem to care if they violate the constitution of Washington State or federal
some good news out of CA which i hope/believe will be the needed outcome in WA.
"Last week, a Federal Court in the Southern District of California, applying a new 2022 Supreme Court decision, threw out a 1989 California law that banned so-called “assault weapons.”"
