People should be very wary and suspicious of any bill or law proposed, that gives the state Attorney General MORE power to investigate and legislate.
HB 1445, based on initial reading, would give the AG’s office the power to investigate misconduct committed by a law enforcement (or corrections) officer.
Shouldn’t this kind of investigation be done by the agency, to which the law enforcement/corrections officer is employed by?
This sounds like another example of overreach by an already ambitious, power hungry criminal tyrant, especially when viewed in light of the AG’s action taken against Ed Troyer (Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy).
Not only government overreach but a way to stop independent sheriffs
I'm contacting legislators as this memo just came in. Stayed tuned.
