SB 5599, SB 5489, and its companion bill HB 1469 allow for children under the age of 18 to receive ‘protected health care services’.
‘Protected health care services’ are services like ‘gender-affirming care’ and ‘reproductive health’.
For children under the age of 18, the real question is why would they need services of this nature?
The other important note is that any child who’s discovered to be receiving ‘protected health care services’, aren’t required to have parental consent (or contact) to receive such services.
April 3, Washington DOH will end the Mask Order, currently requiring masking in healthcare, long-term care, & adult correctional facilities for people age 5 & older
DOH continues to recommend masks for patients, healthcare providers, & visitors in healthcare settings. Licensed healthcare facilities are required to have CDC infection prevention policies & programs
Worker requirements are enforced by L&I for employees & contractors who choose to use facemasks or PPE without employer retaliation. Under HELSA rules, key worker protections remain in place until federal pandemic response declaration ends May 11
Local governments, facilities, & providers may continue requiring masks
I am posting this on all of my social media accounts, obviously broken up into threads. Please join me in posting as well as calling WA house and senate. This potentially affects ALL children, not just WA state. The word needs to get out!!!

Allow minors children to go to a youth home and receive protected health care, ie abortion and gender affirming care without notification of parents. Already legal in #WA state but this allows NO parental notification

Shield Law at request of Bob Ferguson makes #WA state a Sanctuary state for children from other states who have stricter laws regarding these procedures without any retaliation from those states.
We need to question our state senators & representatives on why they are doing this; and where do they get the authority to OVERRIDE PARENTAL CONSENT
